5 Times Adesuwa Etomi-Wellington Delivered Believable On -Screen Chemistry

Adesua Etomi is a Nigerian actress and singer. She is known for her stellar interpretation of roles. She took Nollywood by storm with her role in Knocking On Heaven’s Door. And that paved the way for other movies she has done which showed her versatility as an actor. It is beyond doubt that she is a professional and her passionate delivery on-screen will expose you to her undeniable talent.

Her on-screen performance with her co-actor is usually more than believable because of the quality effort she puts into creating solid chemistry with her partners. Now, let’s do a rundown of 5 movies we have seen her deliver outstanding chemistry on screen

The Arbitration

In the high-pressure world of Nigerian technology, a workplace affair that led to an alleged rape leads to an emotionally-charged arbitration of the case.

The few romantic scenes she acted with O.C Ukeje were epic not just for the touchy-feely but because they managed to create a pair who delivered what an office romance is. The arbitration was a good movie but the performance of Adesuwa and OC Ukeje gave it the perfect tilt in the right direction.

Brave is a 2014 Nigerian short film directed by LowlaDee with Adesua Etomi and Wole Ojo in lead roles.

This short movie was one of the most popular movies the made the year 2014. Her on-screen chemistry in these movies was not just about passion but the way she was able to portray true emotions. From her laughs to her cries, she created within short minutes, a wealth of believable emotion with Wole Ojo that transcended the minds of the readers into rooting for her strength and courage.

Muna’s love for her husband, Imoh, is put to the test when an accident lands him in a deep coma and a new man walks into her life.

Wow! This movie captured everything an actress should be. Adesuwa acted out a role that a million other actresses could have done but never the way she did. Her relationship on screen with Kunle Remi was almost too believable. It made us understand that there must be a sex scene for a movie to be sexual. Their chemistry was the epic.


Shuga 4 focused on themes involving adolescent girls, stigma, prevention of mother to child transmission (PMTCT), HIV testing, gender-based violence, first sex and the disclosure of HIV status.

Adesuwa played the role of an HIV negative lady dating an HIV positive guy. Her natural and easy relationship with Emmanuel Ikubese was more than commendable even as she seemed to stand by him despite his HIV status.

The Wedding Party
As their big day arrives, a couple’s lavish wedding plans turn into a nightmare that includes exes, fighting parents and uninvited guests.

Real-life couple Banky W and Adesuwa brought all the heat to our screens with this one. In this movie, it was not just about the kisses, it was the easy comandrie between them they sold their act. After this movie, we were all convinced without a doubt that they were definitely meant to be. And of course, we were definitely not surprised when they announced their engagement even though they had previously kept their relationship a secret.

All these go to prove what an exceptional actress Adesuwa Etomi-Wellington really is. Nollywood is indeed lucky to have such a distinct and talented actor.
