The reality of the virus rises daily in Nigeria with more confirmed cases. What are Nigerian Celebrities contributing to combat the spread of the Virus?
Toyin Abraham is one of those Nigerian Celebrities at the forefront of this battle.
Nollywood Actress Toyin Abraham has spent a whooping N700,000 in securing bags of rice, sanitizers, face masks and other things for people.
In the past few weeks, more and more cases have been reported on the daily. Social and Economic activities have been crippled and the Entertainment industry has not been spared. Covid-19 is really hitting hard in many places. Even in Nigeria. Especially with reports of National Leaders picking the virus and testing positive.
Yet, while the Government does its best, there has also been massive support from well-meaning members of the public to help combat the spread of the virus. Including Celebrities.
The actress took to her instagram to give away Thousands of Naira to the cause. On the 24th of March, she advertised for who could supply the items and few days later she followed it up with proof of what she has done.
In addition to the philanthropic move, The Nollywood Actress has also shared tips on how people can stay safe during the period of the pandemic – advising on how to cough, wash hands and observe good sanitary precautions, in Yoruba.

This follows Award winning movie director, Niyi Akinmolayan’s call for an indigenous sensitization. Noting that people who need to know about this do not speak much English. He prepared a Pidgin, Yoruba and Ibo cut for the purpose. It can be gotten here
While most of the other Nigerian Celebrities are spending their time on Social Media calling out government and looking fabulous in self-isolation, we appreciate those ones like Actress Toyin Abraham, who try to help out in whatever ways they can.
