The Jury for the Zuma Film Festival (ZUFF) 2023 has been announced by ZUFF’s Director for Public Affairs, Brian Etuk.
Zuma Festival is a well-thought-out program organized by different prestigious bodies in Nigeria to promote its rapidly growing film industry. The festival is jointly organized by the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) and the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
Destined to run this 13th course this year, with the theme “Cultural Convergence”, and Chairman of the Jury, Professor Femi Shaka, ZUFF 2023 is poised to be a beacon among upcoming international film festivals held across the world.
Professor Femi Shaka, a man of no mean feat, a widely read scholar, a Nollywood pioneer, and a strong advocate of the cinema with several degrees and research publications to his name, will chair the eight-person team to adjudicate this year.
Submission entries opened on the 15th of July 2023 and will close on the 15th of November, 2023, by 11:59 pm (WAT). Filmmakers are advised to submit their entries through the film freeway platform: https://filmfreeway.com/zumafestival, or a submission to ZUMA FILM FESTIVAL Secretariat, Nigerian Film Corporation Headquarters, Jos Plateau State. Other alternatives include submission to NFC Zonal Offices in Lagos, Asaba, Umuahia, Yola, Kano and Abuja.
Individual submissions are expected to include the following: information on Genre, Producer(s), Director(s), Country, Language, Year of Production, Year of Release, and a 30-second trailer.
Film considered eligible for submission must have been produced between September 2021 and September 2023.
The awards to be given include Best Cinematography, Best Script, Best Animation, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Documentary, Best Foreign Film, Best Student Film, Best Picture, and Best Indigenous Film.
