Nollywood highest grossing filmmakers of the last Decade according to Filmone

Leading entertainment studio Filmone ranks the highest grossing nollywood filmmakers of the last decade from the highest to a 40million mark.

2019 was indeed a fascinating year for the Nigerian movie industry with highest great movies meeting and surpassing each other in figures.

FILMONE entertainment took time out to Rank the 10 best filmmakers of the decade as at 2019.

They caption that ‘these directors are responsible for a number of Box office hits, as we look back on the decade, we celebrate them and their contributions to #nollywood’

The list included;

  1. Niyi Akimolayan with 874m for The Wedding Party 2, Chief Daddy and The Set Up

  2. Kemi Adetiba with 698m for The Wedding Party 1 and King of Boys

  3. Robert Peters with 344m for 30 Days in Atlanta and A Trip to Jamaica

  4. Omoni Oboli with 280m for Wives on Strike 1&2, Okafor’s Law and Mom’s At War

  5. Toka Mcbaror with 236m for Merry Men 1: The Real Yoruba Demons

  6. Kunle Afolayan with 208m for October 1, The CEO, Omugwo and Mokalik

  7. Funke Akindele-Bello with 162m as at the end of 2019 for Return of Jenifa, Your Excellency

  8. Ramsey Nouah with 158m as at the end of 2019 with Living in Bondage and Breaking Free

  9. Biyi Bandele with 146m for Fifty and Half of a Yellow Sun.

  10. Moses Iwang with 140m as at the end of 2019 for Merry Men 2

And a honorable mention of Tope Oshin with 130m for Up North and New Money.

  1. I think Niyi Akinmolayan gets it with his Chief Daddy, The set up and Wedding Party…Kudo to him
    And in addition, I’d also give it to Funke Akindele…Mehn Your Excellency got me off my feet…Kudos to her…..The Nigeria Film Industry is moving forward.
