The Senator Ibikunle Amosun led government of Ogun state is set to make another historic landmark as the state hosts the Directors Guild of Nigeria to Nollywood Fiesta 2018.
A statement released by the current PRO of the Guild has it that the Fiesta, a 3-day event encapsulates a catalogue of significant activities among which are:a magnificent opening ceremony at Ogun State Cultural Centre, Kuto,Abeokuta where Governor Amosun will declare the event opened, a novelty football match between the DGN Nollywood team captained by Fred Amata with an array of Nollywood stars like Saka, Aki and Pawpaw,Desmond Eliot, Ricardo Agbo, Kate Henshaw among others playing against team Ogun led by His Excellency, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
According to Oduala,the fiesta takes place between Wednesday 11th and Friday 13th April,2018.
Oduala added that the Guild has decided to give back to the society by investing in youths in tertiary institutions in the state via a free DGN orchestrated master training programme during the 3-day event which includes induction of new members into the Guild and also culminates into election of new executive members.
The event will climax with a Gala/Awards night at the Mitros Residences Ibara Abeokuta on Friday.
Fred Amata, the President of the Guild enjoined interested students of media arts in relevant tertiary institutions in the state to take advantage of the window to connect themselves to the industry in a professional way.
K-Show Media CEO and DGN member,Kehinde Soaga a co-facilitator of the event emphasized the need for Ogun tertiary media students to key into the Master Class training window given the involvement of one Ogun’s finest creative practical lecturers, Olufemi Orunsola of the Department of Mass Communication, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta in the moderation of the master class/training.
