Pete Edochie, a well-known Nollywood actor, has received two honorary doctorates from ISTM University in Togo. In a video commemorating the occasion, the academic experts visit the 76-year-old actor.
At his residence in Enugu on September 2, 2023, he was presented with honours from the Togolese University’s Institut supérieur de technologie et de Management (ISTM), including lifetime achievement awards and doctorates in literature and the arts. The worldwide university conferred a Doctorate in Literature, Arts, and Lifetime Achievement as its two awards.
Representatives of ISTM commended the veteran for his considerable work, dedication, and support of the arts and creative industries in Nigeria and around the world. Upon accepting the awards, a university spokesman said: “For all the works he has been doing, and he has been the pioneer in everything that all the younger ones are copying.”
As he accepted the honours, he thanked the institution for their recognition and paid homage to H.G. Wells, who had greatly impacted him.
