The Nigerian Selection Committee Calls for Submissions (96th Oscars)

We’re thrilled with the Nigeria Official Selection Committee’s (NOSC) announcement to filmmakers to submit their films to the International Feature Film for the 96th Oscars in 2024! According to the information on the committee’s website, the entry process begins on August 25th and ends on September 14th. As film enthusiasts, it’s expedient we follow Nigeria’s journey in the 96th Academy Awards’ International Feature Film Category in 2024. 

Let’s mark down these significant dates:

(Note: These dates are subject to change by the NOSC)*

– Submission Period to the NOSC*

  August 25 – September 14, 2023.

  (Your film should have screened between December 1, 2022 – October 31, 2023, following NOSC’s rules)

 

NOSC Voting Day

  Sunday, September 17, 2023.

 

Announcement to Selected Film Producer/Production Company

  Monday, September 18, 2023.

 

– Academy Submission Deadline

  Monday, October 2, 2023. (5 p.m. PT)

 

The Academy will conduct two rounds of voting:

  1. To determine a shortlist of 15 titles.
  2. To choose 5 titles as nominations for the final vote in the International Feature Film category.

 

Nominations Announcement

Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

 

96th Academy Awards Night

  March 10, 2024.

 

For the Academy Awards, the country will be recognized as the nominee, and the director’s name will be listed on the statuette plaque after the country and film title.
