US rapper, Nipsey Hussle shot dead near his clothing store in LA

American Rapper, Nipsey Hussle died on Sunday after a shooting in Los Angeles near a clothing store he owned.

According to a high-ranking law enforcement official with the Los Angeles Police Department, two other people were injured in the shooting around 3:20 p.m. The shooting occurred in the area of Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard.

According to the police, all three victims were transported to a hospital, where one of them was pronounced dead. The other two were in stable condition, police added. As at the time, the department said they had no information about the shooters but will provide more details if they become available.

The rapper’s last message on Twitter read: “Having strong enemies is a blessing.” which indicates that really, he had foes.

Nipsey was part & founder of the underground rap circuit ‘All Money In, No Money Out Records’, the 33-year-old rapper struggled to find fame, began selling his own mixtapes, which hip-hop royalty Jay-Z once bought 100 of for $100 each.

Nipsey Hussle teamed up with successful artists, including Kendrick Lamar, Drake, YG, Ty Dolla Sign, Meek Mill and Young Thug. He made moves outside the music industry, too. Last year he launched the first Marathon Clothing smart store at 3420 W. Slauson Avenue in Los Angeles. He also owns The Marathon Agency and SC Commercial Ventures.

He was nominated for best rap album at this year’s Grammys, but lost to Cardi B.

After news of his death, dozens of celebrities expressed their shock and condolences on social media.
