Van Vicker On #SexForGrade Scandal – “Edited Visuals Can Be Deceptive”

By Yetunde Adeyeri

Ghanaian actor Van Vicker took to Instagram on Wednesday, October 9, to condemn lecturers to ask for sex for grades although he ended up seemingly defending Prof. Gyampo’s. His post was quite controversial because he explains that the documentary could have been doctored and edited to implicate the lecturers. He claimed that since no one has the full footage, we do not know what transpired behind the scenes. He mentioned that the ladies could have offered and even seduced the lecturers.

The undercover documentary which aired on Monday, October 7, exposed some West African university lecturers who sexually harass students in exchange for favors.

Prof Gyampo and fellow lecturer Dr. Paul Kwame Butakor at the University of Ghana were captured in the documentary.

But Van Vicker says ‘edited visuals can be deceptive’ – suggesting that the ‘raw’ footage can offer more grounds for judging the case.
